How I Buy Books

   

       Hello fellow members of the book community! As a book lover, buying books can be an exciting thing, I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. Going on Amazon or Barnes and Nobles and staring at all the glorious shelves knowing in your heart you can buy one and delve into it's pages. It's a wonderful feeling really: buying books.
      Today, I'm gonna tell you how I buy books, because I don't know about you, but I have to pay for my books. As sad as it is, I spend months, up to a year collecting my allowance and hoarding Amazon Gift Cards from past birthdays or Christmas or whatever. It is the epitome of depressing. Some of the main places I go to buy my books includes: Amazon, BookOutlet and of course, The Book Depository! All of these places are reliable and send you books in great condition, especially regarding BookOutlet, if you haven't used BookOutlet before, I assure you it's reliable. When I first started using BookOutlet I was super worried that it was too good to be true. I mean - come on, a hardcover, brand new for 3.99?! Practically unbelievable, but I assure you, BookOutlet is very reliable and helps your budget like crazy.
   
Step 1 » The first thing I  do when I prepare to buy books is do research, I crazily search Amazon, record down prices and scroll through Goodreads to see which books I desperately need to buy.

Step 2 » Next, is the math portion. I personally, am not math's biggest fan, but when it comes to budget, I'm freaking awesome. I take the list I've written down of all the books I want to buy and their prices and add them up. Sometimes the number is seriously scary when I  compare it to my budget. Typically my budget is anywhere between 70 - 100 dollars, and I'm not rich you guys! I only do this about 2-3 times a year and it requires TONS of saving up.

Step 3 » This is the sad part. This is the part when I decide, "I really don't need this book". So I take off from my list of "TO BUY" books and lower how much I will be spending. This makes me sad, but I just keep in mind that next time I will be able to buy more.

Step 4 » This is the part where I hit the "add to my cart" button and enter in my credit card number. Even though I have saved up to buy all these books, I still can't help but wince as I finalize my order. But you know...buying books - it's important stuff!

Step 5 » I begin to contemplate life and how depressing it is I spend so much money on books. Then I will begin to obsessively check Amazon and check my package to see when it will arrive!

Step 6 » My package of books has arrived! And they are sitting on my porch when I get home from school. I bring them in and rip them open, (who cares about homework?) and start to manically giggle as I hold my brand new books.

Step 7 » Finally, Step 7, I put my new books in my growing TBR shelf of 25+ books and stare at them for a moment. I am now happy. My job is done until next time!
