As long as he has a map, Nix’s father can sail his ship, The Temptation, to any place, any time. But now he’s uncovered the one map he’s always sought—1868 Honolulu, before Nix’s mother died in childbirth. Nix’s life—her entire existence—is at stake. No one knows what will happen if her father changes the past. It could erase Nix’s future, her dreams, her adventures . . . her connection with the charming Persian thief, Kash, who’s been part of their crew for two years. This week for Top Ten Tuesday I'm gonna share some of the best book I've read in 2015. 2015 has been a great year for books and next year will be even better. I will admit, I am writing this Top Ten Tuesday post a couple weeks in advance. Why? Because this week is finals. Yay. No I am not excited for finals at all. So wish me luck as you read this. Onto my actual picks! </div>

<b>#2: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard </b><br />
I'll be honest, at the beginning of this year wasn't as crazy about books as I am now. I didn't research new books to read beforehand either. I just saw <i> Red Queen </i>on the shelf of my local bookstore and it looked really awesome. I had heard some things about it but certainly not many. <i>Red Queen </i>blew me away and am highly anticipating it's sequel: <i>Glass Sword. </i><br />

<b>#3: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo</b><br />
Woah. <i>Six of Crows </i>was such a great book. I received an ARC of this book at SDCC and was blown away. Leigh became such a great writer and am totally looking forward for the second book in it's duology.<br />

<b>#4: A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab</b><br />
I was not expecting the amazingly awesomeness of this book. <i>A Darker Shade of Magic </i>had a unique quality to it that I honestly couldn't describe. It was magical and different, dark and light all at once!<br />

<b>#5: The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh</b><br />
I myself have never read <i>A Thousand and One Arabian Nights </i>but because of this book, I now intend to read it in my spare time. This book was very cute and I enjoyed that it took place not in America and it had a very clever main character!<br />

<b>#6: The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey</b><br />
Okay, I'm gonna be honest with you, this book was freaking amazing and it deserves way more credit in the book community. I was shocked I had barely heard much word about this book at all and I LOVED this book, you can check out my review <a href="http://blankslaters.blogspot.com/2015/10/review-girl-at-midnight-by-melissa-grey.html#more" target="_blank">here</a>. I'm gonna do this book some respect and represent it as one of the top ten books I've read in 2015<br />

<b>#7: The Witch Hunter</b><br />
This book is as self explanatory as it gets. This book has witches. And they are some badass awesome witches. I have to say <i>The Witch Hunter </i>made me want to read more books about witches because it was THAT good!<br />

<b>#8: Blood and Salt by Kim Liggett</b><br />
I wasn't really anticipating this book. I had heard about it but I wasn't bouncing off the walls in anticipation. I received an ARC of <i>Blood and Salt </i>at SDCC and woah. <i>Blood and Salt </i>was an awesome mix of freaky horror and even darker romance that was written beautifully!<br />

<b>#9: Splintered by AG Howard</b><br />
This book didn't come out in 2015 but I couldn't NOT include it. <i>Splintered </i>was sweet and magical. With sparks of romance and adventure. <i>Splintered </i>also carries a disease, it's called: <i>after you read this book you'll be obsessed with Wonderland Syndrome. </i><br />

<b>#10: White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout</b><br />
Also, not a 2015 release, but still amazing. Though the cover and title are slightly cheesy, slightly being an understatement. This isn't your typical romance. It's a dark and demonic one that made this book my favorite work so far of JLA's! You can read my full review of it <a href="http://blankslaters.blogspot.com/2015/11/review-white-hot-kiss-by-jennifer-l.html" target="_blank">here</a>!<br />

Not sure if it's a meme, it wasn't really meant to be one, but if you come across this and like the idea, by any means we can call it a meme! Please, I do ask if you credit and link my name and blog! Thanks. Anyways, this segment, meme, whatever the heck this is, is about underappreciated authors. There are so many authors I feel deserve way more attention and each time I do this segment I will pick 3 authors!<br />
Well, let's get to this and spread some word about these amazing hidden authors.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>#1: Kelly Thompson, <i>The Girl Who Would Be King</i></b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Kelly Thompson is such an amazing writer. Her book <i>The Girl Who Would Be King </i>is fantastic, not only that but it has this totally gorgeous title and cover. I mean, look at that cover! And it has a plot with a good old fashioned light vs dark, hero vs villain vibe!</li>

<b>#2: Sarah Dessen, <i>Just Listen</i></b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Sarah has her fans, don't get me wrong. But I definitely think in the book community she could be seen more. I don't often see many of her works on many blogs. Sarah's books are fantastic, though don't get me wrong I haven't read all her books, some of my favs are <i>Along for the Ride </i>and <i>Just Listen. </i>Also, Sarah wrote the first contemp. book I ever read so all her books have a special place in my heart. </li>

<b>#3: Gina Damico, <i>Croak</i></b><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Her books are utterly unique and fun. Plus we got some awesomely adorable shipping which is always good! Gina writes such a fun and great novel with a serious aspect to overlay it. A book about teenage Grim Reapers. I will leave you at that.</li>

<br />
<br />
As said before in the last post regarding blogger tips, I promised some HTML tips! Now, if you're like me, then I assume you know absolutely nothing about HTML or CSS, it's very confusing and I totally understand where you're coming from. But never fear! It is actually very simple (I'm sure you've heard this a million times) and it can make your blog look great! Unfortunately, this HTML and CSS tutorial is <b>ONLY FOR BLOGGER. </b>I'm really sorry, but since I do use blogger, that's what I know. Wordpress is a whole other world for me, maybe one day I'll move to Wordpress with your guys' support!<br />
Anyways, let's get to it! These are some of the more simple things that will spice up your blog!<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Adding Social Media Buttons</span><br />
<div>
<br />
<ul>
<li>There are various ways to add social media buttons, but I personally find this the easiest way.</li>
<ul>
<li> To find social media buttons look on Pinterest and search up some free ones. Or you can buy them if you find some you REALLY like. For me personally, I won't put any cash into my blog until I feel I've got a good handle on everything blog-related and of course, people are actually seeing my blog. </li>
<li>The hardest button to find is the Goodreads button, unfortunately I can't find the link for the free downloadable buttons I used for my blog! Sorry guys! :(</li>
</ul>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><b>STEP 1 » Once you find the social media buttons you want, download them onto your device and upload them onto a blank post spread!</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmi4sfQ28yyEpxnZgFLDQzM4lsri5DUPS1DVtE3c9d8KMDn1pKK-OWjhxAB98pu2WWuui-FUF41Y-BdmfZL6L1ONfWqywC3eVrckJWVU0Fbedn0bOxL5nH0wdTBeKs-C2jutBG5NxDFs/s1600/Screen+Shot+2015-12-09+at+8.44.54+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="332" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmi4sfQ28yyEpxnZgFLDQzM4lsri5DUPS1DVtE3c9d8KMDn1pKK-OWjhxAB98pu2WWuui-FUF41Y-BdmfZL6L1ONfWqywC3eVrckJWVU0Fbedn0bOxL5nH0wdTBeKs-C2jutBG5NxDFs/s640/Screen+Shot+2015-12-09+at+8.44.54+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>STEP 2 » Add them to your post. You can move them around so they are in the correct order you want. </b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>STEP 4 » Hit the link button which is slightly to the right above the Pinterest button. Add the link to said social media account (i.e Goodreads button to Goodreads main profile link)</b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>STEP 5 » Hit "Ok" and repeat this step to remaining social media buttons. </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg9e3f2frHBhqG4dGDnWpWT-wqEj6CxKjfxN2JWDvc4ExqlVQVWlqmiZYMzSM2Vsf7Al33LAm4EuBnUdIIUbD68FUCj6ri5MW0JukbEiIdM5JESTIHMnK1EFbt4mobQ3oqYcnMwEdr-NE/s1600/Screen+Shot+2015-12-09+at+8.57.03+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg9e3f2frHBhqG4dGDnWpWT-wqEj6CxKjfxN2JWDvc4ExqlVQVWlqmiZYMzSM2Vsf7Al33LAm4EuBnUdIIUbD68FUCj6ri5MW0JukbEiIdM5JESTIHMnK1EFbt4mobQ3oqYcnMwEdr-NE/s640/Screen+Shot+2015-12-09+at+8.57.03+PM.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>STEP 5 » Now you'll notice in the top left corner of a post spread there is a "Compose" button, which is where you write your post, and a "HTML" button. Click the HTML button.</b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>STEP 6 » Once you hit it the pictures of the social media icons will turn into a long list of HTML that will probably make your head hurt. It should look like this:</b></div>

<div>
<b>STEP 1 » Write out all of the things that you want highlighted in your post. For a book blog, it would typically be the author, page #, title, release and description. Maybe more. But first write all of that out, but DO NOT ADD THE PICTURE. </b></div>

Restless, and having given up smuggling, Kell is visited by dreams of ominous magical events, waking only to think of Lila, who disappeared from the docks like she always meant to do. As Red London finalizes preparations for the Element Games—an extravagant international competition of magic, meant to entertain and keep healthy the ties between neighboring countries—a certain pirate ship draws closer, carrying old friends back into port. </span><span 19.32px="" color:="" font-family:="" font-weight:="" georgia="" imes="" line-height:="" new="" normal="" roman="" serif="">But while Red London is caught up in the pageantry and thrills of the Games, another London is coming back to life, and those who were thought to be forever gone have returned. I was tagged by SJ from <a href="http://sjbouquet.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">A Tree Grows in Bookland</a><br />
There are some rules!<br />
1. Answer the questions truthfully<br />
2. Once I complete this tag, then I gotta tag someone else!<br />
<br />
Well, my TBR is long. I have a very large pile of books both at home and on Goodreads. But I consider the books on my To Read pile not part of my TBR, it's only part of my TBR if it's in my hands or on my kindle, which I don't use very often. Now let's get to it! :)<br />
<br />
<b>1. How do you keep track of your TBR Pile? </b><br />
Simple answer! I don't. I don't keep track of my TBR pile, I do constantly add books to my to-read list on Goodreads, but I buy my books. And keep getting more and more, so my TBR grows more and more. It's a really bad habit.<br />
<br />
<b>2. Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?</b><br />
Print! I love to hold books in my hand, it's just so much better than kindle in my opinion.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgbI6z5YSmKav3m59yhjlvJgJZXVb-6rJMbc5QR94SjIDJJVPUPBO2XNALw3FZoZn6u_AJiyxyf3nscJfaY4wba2I5HJpautqJODiKd0vG1tITOfjwyJRbswPP7i1CCH_8upW2QpCOYP4/s1600/phonto.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgbI6z5YSmKav3m59yhjlvJgJZXVb-6rJMbc5QR94SjIDJJVPUPBO2XNALw3FZoZn6u_AJiyxyf3nscJfaY4wba2I5HJpautqJODiKd0vG1tITOfjwyJRbswPP7i1CCH_8upW2QpCOYP4/s320/phonto.png" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>3. A book that's been on your TBR the longest</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Attachments </i>by Rainbow Rowell has been on my TBR foreverrrrr! Omigosh, it's been on there for at least a year, I swear! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71ZlxOeCx4L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71ZlxOeCx4L.jpg" height="320" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>4. A book you recently added to your TBR</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Vicious </i>by VE Schwab was very recently added. All of Victoria's works are fantastic so I had to buy <i>Vicious </i>ASAP. I even forced my dad to buy me the $25 hardcover because I'm going to meet her in February. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1362495700l/13638125.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1362495700l/13638125.jpg" height="320" width="214" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>5</b><b>. A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The cover is stunning. everything about this book looks stunning. Not arguing, the cover is stunning and I am judging this book by it's cover.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>6. A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I don't know why, it just doesn't appeal to me. I got it for free, picked it up at SDCC and well, I don't think I'll be ever getting to it. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>7. An unpublished book on your TBR you're excited for</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am deprived of my Shadowhunters. I don't read TSA because I want the final print version, and I can't read one story a month like that. I've been deprived for over a year since COHF came out. I'm thirsty for more Shadowhunters. There are more books I'm excited for, but I am really excited for <i>Lady Midnight</i>!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>8. A book on your TBR that basically everyone's read except you</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know shame on me. I even got an ARC of <i>Illuminae</i> from SDCC. And I still haven't read it yet. I will though, this Winter Break!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://misterkristoff.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/illuminae-final-300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://misterkristoff.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/illuminae-final-300.jpg" width="211" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<b><br /></b>
<b>9. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you</b><br />
The Lunar Chronicles. I haven't finished the series yet, I already bought <i>Winter </i>even though I haven't read <i>Cress, </i>yes, I know I'm a mess. But when <i>Winter </i>came out everyone was spazzing out about "Oh <i>Winter </i>this oh <i>Winter </i>that" so I had to buy it. End of story.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/lunarchronicles/images/d/d2/Winter_Cover.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150312133944" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/lunarchronicles/images/d/d2/Winter_Cover.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150312133944" height="320" width="211" /></a></div>
<b><br /></b>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>10. A book on your TBR that you're dying to read</b></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Okay, I don't own this book, but I really want to read it. LIKE I NEED IT. After hearing Ben from Benjaminoftomes talking about it and how great it was I wanted that book bad. I love books with fae in them and this book just looks spectacular. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1424804366l/16047078.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1424804366l/16047078.jpg" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<b>11. How many books are on your TBR shelf?</b><br />
38 books! I own 38 unread books, which sounds pretty small, but it's actually really big and overwhelming since I constantly want to buy more!<br />
<br />
That's it for this tag guys! I think I'm going to be making my own tag actually so that will hopefully be fun, but I have finals to study for so if my posts this week are sketchy it's because I'm busy studying. Yay. No I hate studying. All the posts are pre written if you were wondering.<br />

<a href="https://abcfapps.blob.core.windows.net/shadowhunters/2015/324/eefbaad0-e478-4588-a28c-cac26a4932b8.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="268" src="https://abcfapps.blob.core.windows.net/shadowhunters/2015/324/eefbaad0-e478-4588-a28c-cac26a4932b8.png" width="400" /></a></div>
We've all heard about the upcoming <i>Shadowhunters</i> TV show that is premiering in 2016 on January 12 on ABC Freeform...AKA Family. If you haven't heard of <i>Shadowhunters</i>, well now you have! <i>Shadowhunters </i>is basically, <i>The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones </i>which aired in 2013 as a movie and flopped horribly, but in TV show format! Honestly, I'm really excited for this, I'm a huge fan of all of Cassandra Clare's books and look forward to seeing some of my favorite characters on my TV.<br />
From what I've seen from pictures, I have to say I like the casting choices better. Alec, who is being portrayed by Matthew Daddario is such an awesome choice! In the original, <i>City of Bones </i>movie I felt the actor who portrayed Alec looked 30.<br />
From the trailers I've seen so far, the acting looks slightly iffy. I won't be soft about this, Kat doesn't look very good. She sounds really really whiny and every time she lets out a painful girly gasp I want to slam my head into a table. But everyone else looks really good! One thing that really doesn't help Kat at all is the horrible CG effects I've seen so far. There are moments when I truly don't want to see the show. But then again at the same time I really want to see <i>Shadowhunters </i>and I really want it to be successful and amazing!<br />
I want to tell you guys though that if, like me you are really nervous about Kat's acting and the horrible CG we have so far seen I want you to think for a second. We all know <i>The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, </i>our first experience with our favorite series flopped, and I assume you guys all expect <i>Shadowhunters </i>is going to be wildly amazing and learn from the original movie's mistakes. Am I right? Now put yourself in the writers of the shows shoes. How much pressure do you think they are feeling from <i>us</i>? They want to make a good show and we expect a good show, but what is the definition of a good show? What can the writers put together that we as readers will enjoy, but still make a great show?<br />
And that is why my friends I expect the Pilot to suck. And if it sucks I'm going to keep watching because I want this show to be successful, it looks awesome! So...let me ask the final question here. Are you going to be watching the <i>Shadowhunters </i>TV Show? Do you have high expectations? Share in the comments! :)<br />

And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.</span></div>
<br />
<i>Something Strange and Deadly </i>marked my first Susan Dennard book. And it's ridiculous that I'm only reading this book now considering it came out 3 years ago. SS&D was fantastic so if you haven't read it yet, go read it! Personally, I'm not big on zombie books, I've never found them interesting except for a select few (SS&D, Alice in Zombieland). So, if you are like me and have doubts regarding zombies, ignore those doubts and listen to what I'm trying to tell you, write to you...whatever and big up this beautifully written steampunk book. SS&D takes place around the same era as Cassandra Clare's, <i>Clockwork Angel</i> and I loved it. I honestly don't think this book would have worked quite as well if it had taken place in modern day. The era added an extra steampunk-y? twist to the whole story and added in a way a fun aspect. Okay, maybe not <i>fun...</i>maybe a little closer to a unique aspect. Which is a very good thing.<br />
The plot of SS&D wasn't fast. But that doesn't mean it's boring. The plot was more intriguing if anything, and not fast like, there is a fight scene going on and you need to read the next page and the next page to know what is gonna happen. But fast like, there is something lurking behind the corner, a mystery waiting to be unveiled and a romance that is most certainly blooming in the eyes of the reader. It's fast but not literally fast. Oh gosh, am I actually making any sense?!<br />
Eleanor Fitt, our main character is one of those girls that sees herself as plain but she most certainly isn't our typical girl of the era. She is desperate to seek answers and find her brother. She is a well rounded character and well, I love her! She constantly sought answers and was courageous which is always admirable in characters if you ask me. Daniel Sheridan is our man. Daniel works for the Spirit-Hunters and has a snarky, mean and annoying personality. We all know that's what we like and that's what Eleanor likes (kinda)! Anyways, Daniel is such a cute character, he keeps secrets from Eleanor, and he totally isn't afraid to annoy the crap out of her. Some of the moments between Eleanor and Daniel were just <i>beautiful</i> and...romantic. Another thing Daniel has in his character that I like is his facade, he seems to be very hung up on his past, but in the end conquers what he fears. Fear. Isn't that something we've seen a lot lately in YA novels? I think it started with <i>Divergent</i>. Anyways, Daniel seems like someone that holds fear, but at heart he is courageous and he shows that! That my friends is some real character development there, for both Eleanor and Daniel.<br />
As a whole, this book blew my mind away, one of the main reasons I actually read this book is because I'm seeing both Susan and Alex for the PassTruth Tour and well, I figured I should probably read there books! No wonder Truthwitch is such an anticipated release, Susan is such a great writer. :)<br />

<br />
<br />
This post is going to those of you who don't have a book blog yet. And if you do have a book blog, keep reading because I feel this post might help out some of you guys. If you don't have a book blog yet, and are thinking of getting one, then congratulations. You've finally completed the first step, deciding what you want to do! The next step is whether or not you want to use blogger or Wordpress, or any other blogging platform, but that will be in another post.<br />
I'm gonna tell you right now, I haven't been blogging long with BlankSlaters Books, a little over a month. But something you probably don't know about me is over the summer of 2015 I had another blog. A crappy blog. Yes, before BlankSlaters Books ever existed, there was madfourbooks and GreenLeafBooks. Madfourbooks and Greenleafbooks were the same blog, but I changed the URL and it gave me tons of crap organizing links. ANYWAYS, going into this blogging thing I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't set up a separate blogging email, I posted almost everyday, but wrote the post DAY OF instead of before hand. It was ridiculous. I had been blogging for a month already and I had one follower and like 2 comments. It didn't really encourage me to continue on. Along with that, all I wrote were reviews, LONG reviews that made me sound like the most boring blogger ever. You may not feel I'm credible, a blogger that has been blogging for a month. . . but after my experiences with my last blog, I've avoided what I did before and now blogging is fun for me and I learned from my mistakes. Let's get to the actual tips now!<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1. Write how you feel, express yourself and write a review based on what you thought. Don't write what other people expect! </span><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>When I started out, I wrote SIX PARAGRAPH long reviews that screamed boring. Make the review funny, it doesn't have to be perfect, this isn't English class. Use asterix' and describe what you're doing (EX: *fangirls*, *dies slowly*). Just write what you felt about the book, there is no right way to write a review, a review is perfect as long as it includes how you felt! </li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">2. TWITTER! <b>TWITTER! </b><u style="font-weight: bold;">TWITTER!</u></span></div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>If you don't have a Twitter, I suggest you get one when starting your blog. Twitter has a HUGE book community and there you can find some awesome friends. Bookish people are typically super friendly so don't be shy if you come across one fangirling (i.e ME), join in on the conversation. Along with that, getting followers on Twitter isn't too hard usually, if you share your blog post on Twitter, BAM 100+ people already see your latest blog post on their feed. </li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">3. Use Memes! (Top Ten Tuesday, Waiting on Wednesday) </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Memes are fun, they are something besides book reviews. They are weekly usually, some aren't, but most are. They are fun for me and gives me a break off writing reviews, or if you don't like the idea of meme's, then write posts such as this one. </li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">4. Be Yourself</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>I don't know about you, but for me, the person I am on Twitter and on this blog is different than the one at school, well except when I'm around my friends. Reading books makes me so happy, and having people commenting and following my blog <i>about </i>the books I'm reading makes me ecstatic. So an important tip is to be yourself and have fun, if no one sees your blog, don't worry, your blog is for you and you only. If you like it, that's all that matters, and even better if other people like it.</li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">5. Design to your best ability! </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Designing your blog is fun. It is not only just fun, but it's really important. Though design probably shouldn't take a major role in your blog's success, but it really does. Honestly, I say content over looks, but if your blog looks nice, people will peek around in it and drop a comment or follow. Some key things to make your blog look nice includes: </li>
<ul>
<li>A Nice Blog Header </li>
<li>Social Media Buttons </li>
<li>Pictures (I don't think you can use Pinterest without permission! Though I'm not sure...)</li>
<li>HTML Skills</li>
</ul>
</ul>
HTML is a scary thing, but I learned how to use it. Which means you can too! Another post will be added later about this!<br /><ul>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">6. Get a Bloglovin' Account</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>I had never heard of Bloglovin' when I started out, but Bloglovin' is basically a site that has TONS of blogs on it, blogs you can follow on and comment. It helps find other fellow book bloggers and it makes your blog easier to follow. A common tip is to comment on other blogs, typically this gives you some views. </li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">7. Post your reviews EVERYWHERE</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Posting your reviews on Goodreads and Amazon, I suggest posting half of your review and then add the link to the rest of your review on your blog underneath. If people want to keep reading they will have to click that link!</li>
</ul>
<div>
<span style="font-size: large;">8. Planning is Everything</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>Okay I'll admit I don't plan my posts. I literally just do write them when I have the time. But I'm getting started with planning, I'm planning on starting very soon. Planning your posts is super important because having a blog that post everyday - yes I said EVERYDAY, looks really good. So planning out these posts that you intend to do is great. Along with that, make sure to write your posts beforehand, don't write them day of then there won't be anyone to see them first thing!</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
That's it for my tips! For all you new bloggers like me (haha I'm a new blogger giving advice to other new bloggers), then listen to these! I've done them all, except the planning part, and they seem to work really well. Hope these work for well you too! </div>

<span 13.8px="" 19.32px="" color:="" font-family:="" font-size:="" georgia="" line-height:="" new="" quot="" roman="" serif="" times="">Edward "Teach" Drummond, son of one of Bristol's richest merchants, has just returned from a year-long journey on the high seas to find his life in shambles. <span 19.32px="" color:="" font-family:="" georgia="" line-height:="" new="" roman="" serif="" times="">From the moment Teach and Anne meet, they set the world ablaze. <i>Blackhearts </i>sounds so good! I mean, who wouldn't want to know who Blackbeard was before he became, you know the almighty Blackbeard? It sounds like an adventurous story with a sweet but a heartbreaking romance.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This Top Ten Tuesday is awesome because there just so many debut authors! Many of which I'd love to read their books! Let's get to it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1435161865l/23677316.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1435161865l/23677316.jpg" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#1: Burning Glass by Kathryn Purdie</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-style: normal;">This book looks so good. The cover is totally gorgeous and the plot and synopsis just sound amazing. I need this book like right now, I have high expectations for </span><i>Burning Glass </i>so many people have said many great things about it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1446058438l/25203675.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1446058438l/25203675.jpg" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#2: The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This books title screams magic and fantasy and it makes me love it even more. I really feel like 2016 is going to be a year of fantasy because so many highly anticipated releases are fantasy like this one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://d28hgpri8am2if.cloudfront.net/book_images/onix/cvr9781481432696/blackhearts-9781481432696_hr.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://d28hgpri8am2if.cloudfront.net/book_images/onix/cvr9781481432696/blackhearts-9781481432696_hr.jpg" height="320" width="211" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#3: Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Blackhearts sounds like a cutesy book with a pirate theme. I haven't ever read any books with pirate's in them except <i>Peter Pan</i> and <i>Blackhearts </i>just amazing with a blend of pirate's and romance. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#4: The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This book...like woah. The cover is gorgeous, and the title sounds very contemporary, but at the same time it sounds almost magical. And then after reading the synopsis on Goodreads, it makes TLTSTW even more adventure than a good old typical contemporary.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#5: The Girl Who Fell by S.M. Parker</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Based on the Goodreads description, <i>The Girl Who Fell </i>sounds like a darker romance. It isn't light and fluffy, and I feel like it describes love for what it truly is opposed to the usual love at first sight cliche. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Well first of all this is a retelling of a Brothers Grimm book which is always a huge thumbs up for me because I love retellings! And second, the main character is a princess! Love princesses, not the girly kind though the totally badass kind so hopefully our Princess Aerity will have some steel. </div>

That's it for today! I know I was so close to getting to all 10! But I couldn't think of any other debuts that I'm super excited for, all the other books coming out I'm really excited for aren't debut authors. Hopefully you enjoyed some of my picks, if not go check them out on Goodreads anyways. You never know what you might really think!</div>

<span 19.32px="" color:="" font-family:="" georgia="" line-height:="" new="" quot="" roman="" serif="" times="">All her life, Barrie Watson has been a virtual prisoner in the house where she lives with her shut-in mother. When her mother dies, Barrie promises to put some mileage on her stiletto heels. But she finds a new kind of prison at her aunt’s South Carolina plantation instead—a prison guarded by an ancient spirit who long ago cursed one of the three founding families of Watson Island and gave the others magical gifts that became compulsions. Stuck with the ghosts of a generations-old feud and hunted by forces she cannot see, Barrie must find a way to break free of the family legacy. With the help of sun-kissed Eight Beaufort, who knows what Barrie wants before she knows herself, the last Watson heir starts to unravel her family's twisted secrets. What she finds is dangerous: a love she never expected, a river that turns to fire at midnight, a gorgeous cousin who isn't what she seems, and very real enemies who want both Eight and Barrie dead.</span><span 19.32px="" color:="" font-family:="" georgia="" line-height:="" new="" quot="" roman="" serif="" times=""> </span></div>
</div>
</div>
<br /> Surprisingly, I didn't have high expectations for this book. It looked pretty interesting and all, but I didn't really know what it was about. My expectations should have been higher. <i>Compulsion</i> was such an amazing and dark gothic read. Basically, to sum up <i>Compulsion, </i>there are three families, the heirs of Watson Island and each family has a curse or a gift. Barrie Watson, our main character, has the gift to find things that are lost. Eight is a Beaufort, Eight is the lovely man Barrie came across. Eight has the gift to know what someone truly wants. And then we have Cassie Coleworth, she is Barrie's long lost cousin and she has a curse, to want what others have. Along with that, her entire family is extremely poor and their estate crumbles due to the curse. <div>
<i>Compulsion </i>was a perfect mix of adventure and romance, seriously - some of the moments between Eight and Barrie were super adorable. The adventure was amazing, it was dark too. It wasn't a typical adventure, this adventure had ghosts, and secrets and blood bonding crap. Along with that this adventure, there was betrayal. <i>Compulsion </i>couldn't have been any better, Martina did such a good job creating an amazing story. I actually got a little freaked out during some parts of this book. There is tons of back story to <i>Compulsion, </i>it had lots of legends and ancestry, murder and definitely secrets. But Martina did such a good job showing the background information in an engaging way, it wasn't boring at all like it sometimes can be. </div>
<div>
On a final note, the characters of <i>Compulsion </i>drew me in and held me tight. Barrie is definitely a city girl who is much richer than the residents of Watson Island. Though she isn't snotty at all, she is very brave and kind. I really liked Barrie. Eight Beaufort is one of the sweetest guys in YA. He reminds me of the sun. Does that make any sense? Eight I imagine to have a sweet smile and light brown hair and a kind personality. Eight was written really well, a perfect example of a teenage boy who goes from being to the sweetest person ever to being an ass. But usually he is the sweetest person ever. Eight screams <i>take me on an adventure</i>, and no, I will not say why he is called Eight. Read the book to find out. Some of the smaller characters, like Aunt Pru, Barrie's aunt, and Barrie's own mother also had their story told. Martina did a great job at executing their story and own hardships along with Barrie's. <i>Compulsion </i>for sure impressed me and I need to get <i>Persuasion </i>the second book ASAP. </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
I received <i>Melophobia </i>for free in eBook format from James Morris for an honest review. This was actually my first review request ever, so I was super excited! And wow, <i>Melophobia </i>made great for a first review request. <i>Melophobia </i>was such an interesting and unique book. The mere idea that music is banned honestly makes me want to slam my face into a brick because...who doesn't love music? Music is such an important part of society today, it makes up careers and helps some people connect with themselves if you what I mean. When I first dove into this book, I actually didn't really know what was going on, I had read the Goodreads description and all, but I was kind of blank going in. Not because the writing was confusing, but mostly because I simply didn't know what to expect. In my opinion the synopsis Goodreads gives is awfully vague. But in short, Merrin Pierce is working undercover in order to find The Source. An alias for a criminal who has been distributing music to people. Merrin must find The Source and bring him in, but along the way she finds love and a sense for music and what is really means.<br />
<div>
The plot of a story is a crucial part, it has to be good. In my honest opinion, the plot was slow in the beginning, but it definitely got better as the story went on. Being slower in the middle is okay though, don't leave just because I'm saying this, a lot of books start slow and get better just like this one. Towards the middle and end, well <i>Melophobia </i>got so much better and faster! Oh my gosh, the last maybe, quarter of the book, the plot quickens to the speed of light, in a good way of course, and it resulted in lots of me screaming at my phone (the device I was reading the book on) and gasping in sheer horror at was happening. Let me tell you, if any kind of fangirling happens (i.e crying, rolling on the floor, laughing uncontrollably etc) while I'm reading a book, it means I really liked it.<br />
<div>
One of my favorite parts about <i>Melophobia</i> was the characters. Sometimes I truly wanted to kill Merrin and other times I wanted to be angry with her. But as a whole, she was a realistic and rell rounded character with some badassery. Rowan, a man that Merrin's father is trying to pair with Merrin, was awesome! Let's say I really didn't like him in the beginning of the novel, but in the end I LOVED the man. He was so sweet and fit perfectly with Merrin. Now, let's talk about Anders, Merrin's partner. To be completely expressive on my part: I HATED HIM. Maybe you will like him if you've read <i>Melophobia </i>or intend to read it, but I needed Anders to shut up. I felt he wasn't a good friend towards Merrin at all and it totally upset me, maybe that's the way James wrote him to be, maybe not. But Anders...ugh I really couldn't deal with the man. As a whole, the characters were fun and exciting, well rounded and one thing that I found I really amazing was I hated and loved these characters so much. Trust me, on more than one occasion I wanted to slap Merrin. In my opinion, if you hate and love a character at the same time, the character is well written. Especially if you can feel the pain and challenges a character is facing. </div>
<div>
On a final note, this book impressed me. I personally am not a fan of dystopian or sci-fi and considering <i>Melophobia</i> is just that, well that's impressive. <i>Melophobia </i>is one of those great books that's never talked about, instead lurking in the shadows, a good story waiting to be read. I totally urge you to read <i>Melophobia </i>and experience its absolute awesomeness. </div>

<br />
<br />
Let's talk budget. In my personal views, books are crazy expensive and it takes me forever to save my money and buy my books. And there is even a special process for that which you can read on my <i>How I Buy Books </i>post <a href="http://blankslaters.blogspot.com/2015/11/how-i-buy-books.html" target="_blank">here</a>. I love physical copies of books. LOVE THEM. They are so much better than kindle copies, you can stroke their covers, smell them and just hold them. It's great! The thing with physical copies of books, whether they are paperback or hardback - is they are expensive! And I know you all love the hardcover more, which is even <i>more </i>expensive than paperback. Then we have our final little lonely version of a book that the 21st century has shaped.<br />
<div>
The eBook. </div>
<div>
Ebooks are great too, but in my opinion, they aren't that much better. Why? If you can't afford books or don't have the space for books, I understand. What else are you supposed to do? But if you look at the price of eBooks and compare it to some physical copies, especially on Amazon - they are almost the same price! What surprises and upsets me even more is the fact that sometimes these eBooks are even more expensive than the actual physical book. Yes, there are perks, the book is instantly downloaded to your device. But in my opinion, I find it outrageous to be asking eight to thirteen dollars for a digital copy of a book. I could buy the same book, same price perhaps cheaper in physical format. Only downside being I have to wait an extra two or three days.<br />
There is a final thing I'd like to talk about. I don't know if you guys have ever noticed this, but there are some books that are on kindle, 1.99. Maybe 2.99, in general they are less than five dollars and a <i>decent </i>price for an eBook. But for me, depending on what the book is, I might just want it in physical format. Does anyone know the feeling I'm talking about? But then, I click the paperback copy format on Amazon and am amazed to see they want thirteen dollars for a book that is three dollars on kindle. Now, I probably sound like the cheapest person on Earth right now, but THINK ABOUT IT! On Amazon, a hardcover cost about thirteen dollars, that I can do. But a paperback?! Does Amazon think I'm stupid? Personally, depending on how much I really want that physical copy, depending on who wrote the book and how many good things I've heard about the series etc. I will consider paying <i>more </i>for the physical copy. But in the long run, I find that Amazon seriously needs to get their prices in order.<br />
Though I have to admit, as much as physical copies cost, I will always love them more. ♡<br />
PS: Happy Black Friday Bibliophiles <br />

I am so excited to be reviewing this because a) this is my first book to movie review and b) this movie was super fantastic! If you haven't seen the movie yet, do not fear! The first half of this review will be <u style="font-weight: bold;">spoiler free. </u> Though there are some minor spoilers if you haven't read the book.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th Hunger Games."<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.lionsgatepublicity.com/uploads/assets/64324dc6-6856-11e5-9b43-005056b70bb8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.lionsgatepublicity.com/uploads/assets/64324dc6-6856-11e5-9b43-005056b70bb8.jpg" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now, I'm gonna be honest, I don't remember much of <i>The Hunger Games. </i>The whole series is really a big blur, mostly because I was like ten years old, and secondly because I wasn't as avid of a reader then. I was really bored throughout Catching Fire and Mockingjay, I admit I think I skimmed about 3/4 of the book. Don't hurt me! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
One of my favorite things about this movie though was how amazingly fast paced it was. Mockingjay Part 1 was definitely a slower movie obviously because it was a build up for the second movie. It was Katniss creating a spark, the revolution growing. I was really happy that Mockingjay P2 had action, but wasn't consistent action. It was a fair amount of action that kept me hooked throughout the movie. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I do remember one thing from the books. Katniss was constantly being irritating when it came to Peeta. Throughout the book, Peeta constantly wanted to commit suicide, and Katniss is all mopey that Peeta doesn't remember her. All I can say was I wanted to slap Katniss and tell her to get back to killing President Snow and finishing up her mighty revolution. The movie hardly had any of that. In fact, it had none. There were certain Peeta-Katniss moments that were a little mopey, but it wasn't even really mopey, just a soft sweet moment. The movie showed these moments perfectly and it was completely amazing. My poor fangirl heart was failing me, the feels were just too much! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
From what I can remember from the book, Mockingjay P2 stayed really true to the story. Maybe here and there, the order was a bit mixed up, but overall Mockingjay P2 wasn't upsetting to the true fans and even if you haven't read the book series, I think you would be really pleased with how the story went. This movie definitely deserves 5/5 Stars. It was just SO GREAT! And Happy Thanksgiving you guys! :)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<b> #1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This book was probably one of the main things that really got me back into being an avid reader. Every character in the story has a special place in my heart, and personally, I always felt that characters from books always had an effect on my own personality. It's weird as hell, but it's strangely true. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#2. Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you haven't read this book yet, READ IT. Yes, I'm aware it's by James Patterson, not really a YA author, but the Maximum Ride Series is fantastic. I am so thankful for it, this book made me want to grow wings and fly away. It has such a wonderful story of friendship and I really enjoyed it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#3. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'll be honest with you, Outlander gave me something to totally obsess over. It's crazy, my friends are tired of hearing the damn word. Yet I still annoy them anyways, and they put up with me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#4. This Star Won't Go Out by Esther Earl</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This book took me to places and made me think thoughts I never imagined I would think. If you've read, John Green's <i>The Fault in Our Stars </i>then you know that he dedicated that book to Esther Earl. Esther Earl was a late sixteen year old girl who died of cancer. This Star Won't Go Out left me breathless as it was all Esther's writings. It truly showed me how amazing a human being can be and at the same time made me cry and laugh. I highly recommend this autobiography, it was just beyond fantastic. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#5. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This book was one of those books that I thought was ridiculously stupid. I mean aliens? Could you dig any deeper into Sci Fi? At the time I wasn't into sci fi and still, I'm not. But this book was epic-ly amazing, and this book also showed me that blogging is a thing. That a passion for books can be executed in other ways besides buying more books and reading them. Plus, Jennifer is great with writing her men, she and Sarah J Maas are queens when it comes to it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#6. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Within this book lived my first official book boyfriend. Noah Shaw was like totally gorgeous in this book and I was so not afraid to say it. Along with that, this series is so awesome and<i> enrapturing</i>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#7. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This book has only word: AMAZING. Clockwork Angel was such an amazing book and I am so grateful it exists. Will Herondale was literally the picture of heroic in my mind and Tessa Gray was the best role model, okay not role model but, I really loved Tessa. She was so smart and kind, and she loved to read!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>#8. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One of my first YA books shall always have a special place in my heart. Though now Hush, Hush isn't all glorious as I once saw it as, I still keep it in a special place in my heart! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<b>#9. Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Tiger's Curse was my FIRST YA book that made me fall in love with YA even when I didn't know what YA was. And boy, I became obsessed, it made me really sad that many people hated this book. But in my opinion, this book was amazing, so many fangirlish moments and memories. This book is full of adventure and romance that kept me on my toes throughout the entirety of the series. </div>

<b>#10. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you haven't read this book you are so missing out. The Raven Boys has this really unique blend to it. It's full of magic, some great characters with such different but lovable personalities. And then there's Gansey too. Gansey makes a big part of The Raven Boys. He is possible the sweetest and most gentlemanly fictional character I've ever met. I am so thankful for this beautiful book. </div>

Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world</span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Jennifer L. Armentrout is a queen sitting on a throne beside Sarah J Maas. Why? Because every single one of her books has never disappointed me. I haven't read them all, but I intend to because, WOW, they are all just so good. It is guarantee that every single one of Jennifer's books is going to pull you out of a book slump. And <i>White Hot Kiss</i> is probably so far, my favorite of hers so far.<br />
<div>
<i>White Hot Kiss </i>has a perfectly demonically plot with a fantastic romantic plot. One of my favorite things about <i>White Hot Kiss</i> was the idea that instead of Angels being the "light" factor, gargoyles were AKA the Wardens. I found that this was the coolest idea ever! Usually we have the Angels and the Demons, a big war against each other with Nephilim and blah blah blah. And don't get me wrong, I actually love these plot lines as cliche they are. But the fact that Jennifer incorporated an even more unique element besides Angels made me even love <i>White Hot Kiss</i> more! </div>
<div>
Now onto the characters. Let's start with Roth. Well, let's just say Roth was amazingly hot, I have to admit, Jennifer has some damn great talent in writing hot guys. Roth is a demon, but he has so many sides. Sometimes he's a real asshole, while other times he's a little too sweet to be a demon. Onto Layla, I loved Layla. He character's problems are legit if it were possible to be half demon, half Warden. Layla deals with constantly being pushed or cast out in some way by either the Wardens or Demons. I found she dealt with this pretty well, and in truth, I found a real hero is a hero that can deal with their own problems along with the bigger problems. Layla does just that, with Roth's help of course. Zayne. Oh Zayne, Zayne is Layla's step brother and honestly, I found his a bit strange. Zayne is the other love interest, the final piece to the ultimate love triangle. I didn't like him. I found he really didn't understand Layla as much as he tried. Though at the same time, I feel like Jennifer did this on purpose. For Layla, it's either choose Roth and betray all you've known or choose Zayne, a boy she's been in love with for like - ever, but sacrifice him in the process of loving him.</div>
<div>
This book was just SO AMAZING. I cannot show this in your face enough because it's just so good. Jennifer L. Armentrout's other YA series, the Obsidian series made me realize there was such a thing as a book community. Jennifer has some serious talent and I have absolutely no complaints regarding her writing skills. <i>White Hot Kiss </i>doesn't falter at all throughout the entire story. And I'm well aware how scandalous the title is, and if you still live with your parents, they might look at you funny like mine did. But I swear, this book lives up to it's five out of five stars. Do not question yourself if it comes you possibly buying this book or borrowing it!<br />

<br />
<br />
Hey guys based on the title of this post, I'm sure you can tell what I'm going to be talking about today. Do you love to write as much as you think? Now, for many of you, this probably is the stupidest question you've ever heard. Of course you love to write and you could write pages and pages of words without faltering. Create a world from your mind and splay it before your eyes on a page. And that my fellow bibliophiles is just amazing.<br />
I want to tell you guys a story. I'm currently in high school, and once my mom asked me if I had any plans for college. Like what I wanted to major in, what I wanted to do, all that scary stuff. I didn't know for sure, but I thought I wanted to major in creative writing, in fact, I was SURE I wanted to. I was convinced that I would major in creative writing in college and do a job I loved: writing. And then my mom went and told me about her friends son and how he was applying for college and how he didn't follow his passions as much. Then she went on about how my mom's friend was saying that it's great that I'm blogging, that colleges love that and I'm following my passion. This affected me way more than I expected.<br />
I remember when I was, eleven, maybe twelve years old and Sarah J. Maas' debut novel came out. Throne of Glass inspired my first spark to write. And it wasn't even really a spark, it was more of a force. I made myself learn to enjoy writing. How crazy is that?! And so, throughout my middle school years, Wattpad became my home and my account is STILL up with the shit I wrote. If you check it out I fill find you! DO NOT GO CHECK IT OUT. Nah, I'm kidding, but seriously if you do go read it you will embarrass me for life. When I went into high school I hardly had any time to write, I had taken a hiatus with writing over the summer, but I never felt that urge to write.<br />
That takes us back to when my mom told me her friends advice: to follow my passions. I realized I didn't like writing. I mean, every now and then sure I had the urge to create a story, but in the long run...it just didn't work out. So what was my passion? And if you haven't guessed it already, I have realized my passion is books.<br />
Now how do you find a job that isn't writing but has to do with books? Publishing! So I don't know if this story hit you guys with the sudden realization that, "Holy lord, my entire life has been a lie. I LIED TO MYSELF" then okay, that's cool you know something more about me. If it hit you the way it hit me, then I say don't be afraid. Because let me tell you, when you guys comment, follow or even talk to me on Twitter, it makes me so happy. Like, I parade around my room for a good five minutes. Writing and talking about books just makes me so happy and I realized, that's what you call a passion.<br />
<br />
So...let's get down to the real question at hand: Do You Love to Write as Much as You Think?<br />
<br />

Get prepared, because I am going to rant. As fellow fangirls and boys, you know what a rant means.<br />
<br />
<br />
So here we go, behold, the beautiful thing called the <i>Outlander</i> TV show poster:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b3/Outlander-TV_series-2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b3/Outlander-TV_series-2014.jpg" width="216" /></a></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfkjHYost1xllVHP-OksztWn-C9qFooorbHl_veiPS-hWV-_qlXJSCrWgoZoHGjIC1Hqyltrd3qZnsNMcH0ga-j0AJlfaUtL8KtVu0LZYrWCx9Mbl_3cYj8NSm51KIU_ybLk5cuy39M9I/s1600/IMG_0949+%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfkjHYost1xllVHP-OksztWn-C9qFooorbHl_veiPS-hWV-_qlXJSCrWgoZoHGjIC1Hqyltrd3qZnsNMcH0ga-j0AJlfaUtL8KtVu0LZYrWCx9Mbl_3cYj8NSm51KIU_ybLk5cuy39M9I/s200/IMG_0949+%25281%2529.JPG" width="200" /></a> I just need to say that everything <i>Outlander</i> is amazing. <i>Outlander</i> by Diana Gabaldon has some of the best characters ever and my god, Diana did the greatest job writing Jamie! *winks* Let's just say, <i>Outlander</i> had some of the greatest writing I had ever seen, EVER. And I mean, ever you guys. Which, I'm going to tell you right now, after I finished <i>Outlander</i>, I read <i>The Heir</i> by Kiera Cass. While I was reading <i>The Heir</i>, it felt so empty...why? probably because <i>Outlander's </i>writing was just so fantastically amazing. And if you're curious to know, I was very disappointed by <i>The Heir</i>, not because of how it lacked Diana's writing skills, but because I found Eadlyn just so...so <i>annoying</i>. I found she was a rich brat and could barely face the fact that the spawn of Maxon and America was such a rich royal brat.<br />
<a href="http://www.dianagabaldon.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Outlander-blue-cover-198x300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.dianagabaldon.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Outlander-blue-cover-198x300.jpg" height="320" width="211" /></a> BACK TO <i>OUTLANDER</i>. Hehehe, if you haven't read the books you won't get it. But as I write this, I accidentally made a joke...I'm lame. I'm so sorry. Anyways, I am so obsessed with this book, I waited in line for 4 hours to meet the cast. The very memory makes me smile as I think of meeting Sam Heughan and Catriona Balfe (picture above to the right!) It was very interesting to hear that Scottish people say "Aye" instead of yes. And don't call me stupid, all I've ever heard of a Scottish accent was in <i>Outlander</i>, so hearing it in real life had me shocked.<br />
If you guys are not understanding my dedication and obsession with this book, then know this: I OWN THREE COPIES. Which to many people, that may not be many, but that is a lot for me. Because I typically don't buy double copies of books. And boy, they look beautiful on my shelf.<br />
Now, I'm gonna tell you straight out and flat. <i>Outlander</i> has sex in it guys. <i>Outlander</i> has rape in it. <i>Outlander</i> is a very adult book. I shouldn't be reading <i>Outlander</i>. But <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/abookutopia" target="_blank">Sasha Alsberg</a> just talked so highly about it, I had to read it and find out about this Jamie. And I am so glad I read it. I ever so highly recommend this book, but if you aren't comfortable with this stuff, very descriptive sex scenes I mean, I wouldn't recommend it. Though there is the option of just skipping. :) But this book is so good guys, it's definitely on the longer side, and pretty much from there, the books get longer. But I don't care, the characters are so deep and I just love it!<br />
<br />
I hope you all are aware of my <i>Outlander</i> obsession and it would make me happy if you decided to read it.<br />

First of all, I hope you guys noticed my fancy new HTML work. I'm really loving it and I hope it adds a nice touch to my blog. Anyways, let's get back to how amazing and fantastic Six of Crows was. This book was hugely anticipated book of 2016 and I was totally surprised I hadn't heard of it all until like, March of 2016. Totally crazy, but I was really excited for this book. This year, I actually went to San Diego Comic Con and was lucky enough to receive an ARC a couple months early and meet Leigh! It was such an amazing and fun experience, I woke up at 4:30 AM and stood in line for an extra 3 hours for this ARC! Then I got yelled at for speed walking. Oops.<br />
<div>
Throughout Six of Crows you can tell how much Leigh's writing has improved since her debut, Shadow and Bone, which mind you, was also utterly fantastic. But Six of Crows was just so much better! I do have to admit that Six of Crows was of the slower stories, it's action was really holed up towards the end in the climax of the story. And though the action wasn't as prominent in the beginning, the descriptions made up for it. Leigh did such an amazing job at describing every single scene throughout Six of Crows, I could see even more of the Grisha world through the ink that stained the pages of the book. It was just that good, and though I'm not a big writer, when I do write I love to describe. And Leigh did it perfectly when writing Six of Crows. </div>
<div>
Onto my second favorite part of this book. THE CHARACTERS! Oh my sweet goodness, Six of Crows had some of the loveliest characters I have ever read about. They felt so real. I enjoy characters that are well rounded, they are interesting, have personality and have a history. Leigh hit the mark for every single one of her six main characters. Now in my opinion, this is true talent. Why? Because writing characters is hard, writing <i>one </i>well character rounded character with thoughts and personality and all the good stuff is hard. Never mind six! But Leigh did it, she achieved it so well. Six of Crows has some of the best character I've read about in a long time. From Kaz, to Wylan, they all hold something special in them - a spark.</div>
<div>
Finally, I really want to touch on the subject of the plot. Now, I'll be honest, Six of Crows is a dark book. It has gangs, drugs, murder, merciless torture and all the like. But that really makes me love it more. Together with the utterly fantastic characters, the details Leigh built the world on, and the dark and cold nature of certain parts of the book (i.e. the torture, drugs and murder) Six of Crows is the perfect combination of a great story. Also, if you haven't read the Grisha trilogy yet, you can still read Six of Crows, though I do recommend you read the Grisha trilogy as they are fantastic as well! </div>

Lots of it.<br />And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.<br />But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game. Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger.
